biography Luís Filipe Reis is a Portuguese singer of light romantic music, who was born in the city of Guarda, in 1967. He started singing at the age of seven, at a Carnival party organized by his school, where he performed a song by José Cid. At the age of nine, he learned to play the drums and formed a music group where he was the main vocalist. At the age of twenty, he went to France, where he recorded his first album, “Olé do Cigano”, with his own lyrics and music. This album earned him a gold record and he was invited to record in Canada. Since then, Luís Filipe Reis has become one of the biggest names in Portuguese music abroad, performing concerts in several countries in Europe, South Africa, Australia and North America. His songs talk about the nostalgia of Portuguese emigrants and their romantic experiences.
