David Antunes

biography David Antunes is a Portuguese singer, songwriter and musician born in 1978 in Santarém, Portugal. Son of musician parents, David started playing the piano at the age of six and accompanying his father in his concerts. In 1990, he moved to London, where he lived until he was 20 and where he came into contact with various musical styles. He returned to Portugal in 2000, where he began his professional career in music. David Antunes became known to the general public in 2009, when he was invited to be part of the program “5 para a Meia-Noite” on RTP, as leader of the program's resident band. The band “David Antunes & The Midnight Band” was born, which also included his brothers André Antunes, Valter Antunes and João Nobre. The band accompanied several national and international artists who participated in the program, such as Rui Veloso, Aurea, Paulo de Carvalho, Tony Carreira, Ana Moura, Pedro Abrunhosa, among others. In 2014, David Antunes released his first solo album, entitled “Radio Gemini”, which included several original songs such as “Não Te Quero Mais” and “És o Meu Final Feliz”, both duets with singer Vanessa Silva. In 2016, he released his second album, “Get Ready”, which featured the participation of several artists such as Rita Guerra, Paulo Gonzo, Mickael Carreira and Carlão. In 2018, he released his third album, “Back to Soul”, which included songs such as “Sinto Falta”, “Voltar à Casa de Partida” and “Agora É Tarde”. David Antunes is one of the most versatile and charismatic singers in Portuguese music, with a powerful and expressive voice, he performs various musical genres such as pop, rock, soul and funk. David Antunes also participated in several television programs as a guest or judge, highlighting his victory in the TVI competition “A Tua Cara Não Me É Estranha” in 2017. David Antunes is married to Patrícia Santos and has two children: Gabriel and Matilde.
